I have been a commercial bush pilot for over 25 years and have over 15000 hours flying time. Before entering into the lodge and outpost business, I was flying in fishing guests to all of the outpost camps in the Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Pickle Lake area. As a result, it has been my dream to own and operate my own first class fly-in fishing business. Our lodge and outposts offer the perfect place to experience the real Canadian wilderness fishing adventure.
Our rates have been based on the average weight per person and approximately 150 pounds of gear. Therefore, it is important that you not bring unnecessary gear and food. All guests and gear are weighed prior to boarding the aircraft. It may become necessary to charge extra for excess gear.
Our outposts are manufactured log cabins that have 3 piece bathrooms, covered decks and walkways to the dock. All cabins are equipped with hot and cold running water, propane stove with oven, a fish cooker, BBQ and chest freezer. The lights and water pumps are solar powered. At the dock we have 14 foot boats and 15 h.p. motors with rock guard protection.
The camps are serviced every couple of days with our Cessna 180 to ensure you have a supply of ice and whatever other requirements you have left for us on the message board.
Our high numbers of fish are due to our past and present conservation angling practices. Only conservation licenses are issued to our guests and all walleye over 18 inches and all northern over 27 inches must be released. Have your camera ready to take a picture! We keep handling to a minimum and recommend barbless hooks which are much safer and there is less damage to released fish. Getting a hook in any part of your anatomy can shorten your trip and be very costly. For your convenience, we sell commercially harvested walleye caught by the First Nations people.
The US government says: you require a passport to return home. The Canadian government says: DUIs in the past 5 years are a problem. You are each allowed to import one 26 oz. bottle of liquor or wine, or 24 beer tax free. Do not try to bring any firearms, live bait, firewood or potatoes.
Group leaders are asked to call one week prior to their departure date to ensure the finalization of all the details for your trip.
It is very important that you pack your gear and watch your weight carefully so it will fit into the aircraft.
