Fishing in Sioux Lookout at Red Pine Lodge is some of the best in Ontario! We are located on Abram Lake, squished between two of the most famous fishing spots in our area, Frog Rapids Bridge and the “Abram chutes”. These fishing spots are great for quick, year-round go-to spots. Don’t think that is all, this four-lake system is loaded with exploring and great fishing spots across Abram, Pelican, Botsford, and Minnitaki lakes. The main target species here are Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Lake Trout. Our Next central body of water we fish is the famous Lac Seul. Connected by water via Pelican Falls, some can run the current, but it’s best to leave this task to the professionals and trailer to the Deception boat launch. Here you will find Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth, and Musky as the main target fish. Lastly, there are other leading lakes to fish in Big Vermillion. Trailering your boat to this launch is 10 minutes from camp. The target fish in this very unique lake are Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Musky.

As a conservation enthusiast and supporter of a healthy fishery at Red Pine Lodge, I would like to go the extra mile and not take the big fish out of the system. The reasoning is straightforward. Everyone loves catching BIG fish! Other reasons are possibly more important. These are the best fish to let go and let another angler catch. Slot and over-the-slot great fish are old and best to reproduce and put more back in the lake. Maybe you would like a mount? Nowadays, reproduction mounts are much better and last longer.
